Vanishing Points
In 2007, I began to explore one point perspective compositions for medium-large paintings that rely on small images or colors arranged in a grid. My interest in these stemmed from a love for the drama and epic sweep of perspective line based images that emerge when spread over larger formats. I also wanted to develop what I saw as a system for making images that could deliver meanings beyond the non-objective elements like line, shape, and color. This work goes on, is labor intensive (I've had my mom help at times), and in many ways begs for the use of graphic software, stencil cutters, laser cutters and other machines to decrease the labor time. To date, those machine interventions are a bit beyond my budget.
